A nice three hander without date manual wind sixties Omega watch.  Model reference 131.0019

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1964.  According to Omega’s own website, this model was introduced in 1962.

CONDITION

This watch is fitted with the very nice Omega calibre 601 movement.  This has 17 jewels and micro regulator adjustment, and the only downside is that you can’t see the movement as this watch has a solid caseback (this was the norm in the 60’s – saved the nice finishing for the watchmaker!).  The case back does have an inscription on it for long service from Broom and Wade, a maker of air compressors.  There are some tool marks from where the case has been opened in the past, but they can not be seen whilst wearing the watch.  The rest of the case is good, and the signed crown is fitted.  The dial looks clean at first, but there is some pitting when looking close and this also is on the hands.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred – this colour scheme will work with any colour strap.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
