HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement and hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made and assayed in 1964.
CONDITION
In 1964 a computer would have taken up an entire room, but in Switzerland people had the skills to make a watch movement from many tiny components so small it could not only fit into a small case, but still be working well in nearly 60 years time. That movement has 17 jewels, and the calibre 484 is hand wound via the original signed crown. The case is all 9k gold, as is the integrated bracelet, and the bracelet has banding on the edges to help prevent the band snagging on clothing. The bracelet does have a small kink near the bottom of the watch case but it is not too bad. The bracelet is quite long and would require the skills of a goldsmith to make it smaller, to tailor it perfectly to your wrist. The clasp also has the Omega logo on the safety lock. The dial is good.
