Made in West Germany, this Timex Electric has the type 67 movement that ticks like a quartz, seven years before the quartz watch was invented.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Timex bought the German company Laco in order to get ahead of the curve with Electric movements.  There is a good write up of the development of this movement here.  It came out in 1962 and was only featured in the 1962 Timex catalogue.

CONDITION

The dial is very clean, and the movement ticking away strongly.  The lugs have a little wear on the plating, as shown in the photos and on the video.  We have fitted a new battery and a new leather strap, so it is ready to wear

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video below for more detail.
