A very nice watch in fantastic condition, this Rotary Viscount will have spent a lot of the time in the box.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the supplied paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being sold in December 1962.

CONDITION

It will be harder to find a better example.  The strap it arrived on may have been the original, and we will include this in the package, but it is hard and a new strap will be more secure and comfortable.  But the signs are that this watch had little use in all these years.  It is difficult to realistically fault the dial, hands, or case.  The case is stampoed SD (Sylvian Dreyfuss, one of Rotary’s founders) and is unusual in have a screw down case back, yet still being slim.  Inside is a manual wind movement, calibre AS1702, which is running well.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.  The box is shabby, with the hinge completely separated, but still better to have than not.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
