A 35mm steel case and a Longines hand wound movement is always a winner. Model reference 8888-21.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1962.
CONDITION
Inside this watch is the Longines calibre 30L. This was made between 1955 and 1967 when Longines made some of their best ever watches, and quality was everything. There is even a website dedicated to this movement! It is all winding and running nicely, as you would expect. This watch may not have a sub name, like the Conquest or Flagship, but the style is commonly called a Calatrava (after the definitive Patek Philippe dress watch). You can see the dial has some patina, likely smoke damage that has entered via the crown (the right hand side of the dial is darker than the left). There is also a small dent near 11. The larger than average for the time case is all good, with strong lugs and no dinks. The leather strap is nearly new, chosen because the patina suits the dial, and could be swapped for a new strap in a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
