This ladies International Watch Company watch is a good quality alternative to Jaeger-LeCoultre and Cartier watches.  IWC model reference 2778

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back, which matches the hangtag, we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1962.

CONDITION

During the 1990’s IWC’s advertising was prominently saying that they made men’s watches – one advert for the Da Vinci stated that it was “nearly as complicated as a woman – but on time”.  This sexism has rightly been halted, and reversed, and now IWC will happily take many thousands of pounds off a lady in return for one of their range of ladies watches.

This 1962 IWC has the full company name on the dial, International Watch Co.  The dial is very clean and the hands look to be original dagger style items.  The square case is in very good order.  The case back appears to have been polished, possibly to remove an engraving.  The seventeen jewel hand winding movement is working exactly as it should, and keeps good time.  The strap and buckle are new, and the box is original and in good order – these are rare commodities and worth quite a bit on its own.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, paper hang tag and our Certificate of Authenticity.
