This Talis watch is incredibly good value for a solid gold, automatic men’s vintage Swiss watch with calendar complication.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the Edinburgh hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1961.

CONDITION

Any automatic, solid gold watch would normally be £300+.  The reason this one is cheaper is because the dial has some damage – it looks like some debris has caught under the hour hand and has been dragged around the dial.  To some people this is a deal breaker, and to others it is all part of the character of the watch.  The other benefit of an automatic gold watch, apart from obviously automatically winding your watch, is that automatic movements are thicker than manual movement, so you need a thicker case, so you need more gold.  The movement is a Felsa 4002, a full rotor 21 jewel movement but this never had quick set functions for the date.  This is not an issue if you wear the watch all the time, or if you don’t need to know the date!  Apart from the scratches, the dial is not bad and does have applied markers for each hour.  The case has never been engraved.  The leather strap is new.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
