With the broad lugs of the early Seamasters, but the updated movement, this 1961 Omega ticks lots of boxes.  Model reference 14761

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1961.

CONDITION

The earlier Seamasters automatics had bumper automatic movements.  While these are interesting and they have their fans, the truth is a full rotor automatic is more efficient at winding the mainspring, so Omega updated their models accordingly.  The 24 jewel calibre 552 automatic movement is a treat to see, and also has swan neck fine adjustment to the balance.  It is keeping good time.  The dial is original but does have some staining to the right hand side and around the centre.  The crystal and the crown are both signed.  The blue leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  The brand new 1948 Seamaster has a lot of the styling clues of this model, but being new is £5,470.  But this original is unarguably better value.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
