What is not to like about a 1961 18k gold Longines dress watch with subseconds? Model reference 6982
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1961.
CONDITION
Longines watches from the 40s, 50s and 60s are always highly desirable, and when cased in 18k yellow gold they make the ideal dress watch. The strap on this example is an unworn Longines crocodile item with signed buckle, but these are both more modern editions. If you wanted a different colour leather strap we can fit that for free, and we have shown some pictures on a tan leather strap to demonstrate the difference a strap makes. The three piece gold case is is good shape, with just minor marks, and it has the Swiss Helvetia 0.750 hall mark on the inside of the case back indicating a minimum of 18k gold. The case back does have some dimples, but they are minimal and not seen when the watch is being worn of course. The movement is Longines calibre 23Z, a high quality item with many of the 17 jewels set in chantons – chantons are the gold parts holding the jewels, rather than the jewels being press directly into the bridges on the movement. Their effect is minimal, but you only find this on the better brands. The movement is a pleasure to wind, via the original signed crown.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
