This solid gold ladies Rotary watch has been looked after, and comes complete with both the box and the original purchase receipt.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The hallmark inside the case back is for 1959, so the watch can be no earlier than this. The receipt for this watch is dated however, so we can accurately date this watch to being sold in 1961.
CONDITION
This ladies Rotary watch is all in good order. The gold case was made by Denisson and hallmarked in London. The movement is a manual winding FHF34 that was also used by Baume and Mercier among others is running well, but it is the cosmetic condition that appeals the most. If anything the photos make this watch appear much worse than it actually is. The case has no dings, and was never engraved. The dial is clean but for the smallest marks barely visible to the naked eye. Only the box has a small amount of damage. The leather strap is new. The receipt for this watch says it cost £15 and 10 shillings back in 1961 – using this inflation calculator that would be over £350 in today’s money.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
