This 1960 Roamer calendar watch is very clean, and features a day window and date pointer. The days of the week are in black, with Sunday in red.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Normally Roamer watches can be difficult to date, but fortunately there is a clear engraving on the case back to 1960. This matches approximately the production date of the movement, as this is the later MST416 with shock protection built in.
CONDITION
The watch is in very good condition, with an original dial and minimal wear to the plating. The movement is also original, an in house MST 416. For more detail on this movement please see here. In brief it is a hand winding movement with quickset date operated via the pusher at 2. The hands also look like they were fitted to the watch from new, which is good, although they do have some corrosion. The dial also has some even patina, but not enough to detract from wearing this watch. Fitted with a new strap with gold tone buckle to match the case. It won’t be easy to find another one like this.
