A highly original 1960 Omega Seamaster, unusual in having a manual wind movement.  Model reference 14759.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1960, the launch year for this model.

CONDITION

If you want to ensure that the vintage watch you are considering has as much originality as possible there is no better resource than the original manufacturer.  Omega have a website dedicated to their older watches, and this link here takes you to the page for this watch (we have also shown the picture from their for reference for those nervous about clicking links).  You will see the dial, case specification, hands and hour markers are exactly right, and the crown looks correct too.  The glass and strap are generic replacements not by Omega, and the buckle is signed with the Ω symbol but that is likely to be later.  Otherwise this is very nice.  The dial has a couple of small marks, but overall is very good.  The movement is a very nicely finished calibre 600, with swan neck fine adjustment which is now the preserve of very high end watches.    The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
