This Tudor Royal was originally awarded for 25 years long service.  You’d be lucky to get a card these days!

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the Birmingham hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1959.

CONDITION

Mr S. H. Buckley will have put in a lot of hard years work to have earned this Tudor Royal gold watch that was presented to him by the Army and Navy Stores Ltd.   Over sixty years has passed since then, and still the watch looks good.  The dial has a few spots of patina, which is hardly surprising given this is a non waterproof case, but the dial is original and overall presents well.  The crown is original, with Tudor’s parent company Rolex logo on it.  The case is quite heavy gauge gold, made by Dennison for Rolex in England to avoid the heavy tax on importing completed Swiss gold watches.  The blue leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  The original Tudor signed 17 jewel manual wind movement is working well.  The acrylic crystal is new.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
