This is a very clean, original 1959 Roamer Popular and has the huge benefit of the box and papers.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied guarantee we can accurately date this watch to being sold in July 1959.
CONDITION
The watch is in wonderful condition. The 20 micron gold case shows almost no wear, and wears larger than the size suggests. The screw on back was designed to protect the watch from water, but also did a great job in keeping smoke and dirt out. All the lume is present in the hands and dial, but don’t expect it to glow after all these years. On very close inspect the acrylic crystal has some crazing, so this will be replaced. The box has some dirt on it, and the paper is split across the back, but it is great to see both box and papers surviving with the watch. We have replaced the expanding bracelet for a nice leather strap, and this can be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
