A simple, quality and classy Longines from their golden watchmaking period. Model reference 6884-1
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1958.
CONDITION
The stainless steel case is a healthy 35mm, which is slightly larger than normal for the period, but Longines kept the height of the watch down to under 10mm – a common issue with modern Longines watches is the thick cases. Some of that of course is fashion, but this wears well. The dial has even patina all over it, but that does help establish it has not been repainted or restored. The glas sis clean from scratches and chips, while the original signed crown is still fitted too. The movement is Longines calibre 280, which is very nicely finished (note the chantons holding the jewels – you don’t see them very often but when you do it is in very high end pieces). It is a pleasure to wind and it is also running well. The solid steel caseback does have some tool slip marks, but they are not visible when wearing the watch. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
