This is the second 1957 Smiths Empire Y220 model we have had, both with box and papers, both from the same original shop!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the original paperwork that is included, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in October 1957.
CONDITION
This hand winding Smiths clearly has not been worn much. The chromed case shows only a few marks, and the dial is clean. The plexiglass has just a few light scratches, and we might change the glass before the watch is shipped – the glass may be original, and has yellowed slightly. Some people like this, so just let us know when you place your order. The strap is used and has plenty of life left in it, and suits the watch. This watch has probably spent most of its life in the box, which is why it is so complete 60 years on.
