A 1957 Smiths Empire, model number Y220, in fantastic condition and complete with the original box and dated guarantee.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The model Y220 was made between 1955 and 1960, but happily we have the original guarantee for this watch dated 5th Novemeber 1957.
CONDITION
One of the very best you will find. The dial is clean, the crystal polished to remove any small scratches, and no wear or pitting to the chrome case. Being very, very picky there are a couple of scratches on the case back, and the chrome has some minute imperfections. The strap is a nice soft leather item, just worn a few times. The gilt numerals and hands are all very good too. Even the box is in one piece, although it does have a name written inside. You will notice that we have pictured this alongside a reproduction of the original advert in the smiths 1956 brochure.
