A very clean 1957 Majex men’s watch, set in a 9k gold case. The handwinding AS1290 movement is running well. Never engraved.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the Edinburgh hallmark on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1957.
CONDITION
The styling of this watch is very attractive. Thick squared lugs (that are also drilled to make strap changing easy) lead to a good sized bezel. The original, unrestored dial is remarkably clean for the period and has the red ANTIMAGNETIC wording that is complimented by the red tip of the second hand . The hands are blued. The crown does show some wear to the gold plating used on that, but you will never notice that when the watch is on the wrist. The XL leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or smaller size if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
