HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the London hallmark on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1954.
CONDITION
The Revue 77(SC) 16 jewel movement is running strongly and is a pleasure to see. The dial has some spotting around the centre, and a wonderful textured finish around the number track. The hour markers and numbers, as well as the hands, are not tarnished at all, which could mean they are also gold (it wasn’t uncommon to use gold fittings when a gold case was used. The dial has no radium lume. The outer minute track has not rubbed away as some do. The strap is a 20mm leather item, trimmed to fit the smaller lugs. We think this looks okay with this watch, but if you wanted a 17mm leather strap we could fit one for you at no extra cost.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
