This 1954 Pobeda Russian men’s watch has the red twelve number, similar to early military pocket watches, and a sub seconds dial.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We can date this to being produced in the second quarter of 1954 from the serial number on the watch movement.
CONDITION
This Pobeda (Russian: Победа, Victory) is mechanically strong with some minor cosmetic issues, but at a great price for a vintage watch. The dial has some patina and the red twelve numeral has faded, but the pierced hands are good. And while the case shows some scratches it is solid and in good overall shape. Currently the watch is on a leather ‘bund’ strap, but this could be replaced for a more conventional strap if preferred. USSR watches were built to last.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
