It is incredible to find such and amazing Movado watch with the original box, papers and even buckle from 1954! Model reference 8423.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork, which matches the model number of the watch, we can show that this watch was sold in July 7th 1954.
CONDITION
Any watch with box and papers from the 1950’s is rare, but when it is a special watch like this Movado it is even rarer. The dial is the main selling point for this watch, but the rest is hardly shabby either. The dail is made of solid gold, which has been engine turned in the centre square for unique finish. The hands are also gold, but they are still clearly visible at most angles. This model is sometimes called the Engineer, but but that wasn’t the official Movado name (the dial design did appear in some later Kingmatic ranges though). Like the dial, the case is all 18k yellow gold and while both have small marks they are still very good – the dial especially is captivating and worth watching the video for alone. The movement is interesting too – a slim bumper automatic with 17 jewels that can also be hand wound. The crown isn’t signed. but neither is the one in Movado’s own book by A Schiffer. The 14mm gold plated buckle is signed with the Movodo M though. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the case, movement and buckle.

This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
