A likely expensive Christmas present from 1954, this ladies Accurist is complete with guarantee, box and receipt.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the Edinburgh hall mark on the case back we can date this watch to being assayed in 1953. However the stamped guarantee and the receipt from Herbert Wolf Ltd of Manchester are both dated with the date of sale, 18th December 1954.
CONDITION
It is difficult to fault this watch for originality. We think the strap is still original too, although showing signs of wear and tear. Even the tissue paper in the box appears to have come from the factory. The domed acrylic crystal has no chips visible or to the touch, and the BWC art deco inspired case is straight and dink free. The dial is exceptionally clean for the age and the manual wind 21 jewel movement is running well. The receipt is for £15-5-0, which when adjusted for inflation is nearly £400. Accurist were considered a better brand then than they are now.
This watch will be supplied with the original box, dated guarantee and receipt, plus our Certificate of Authenticity.
