1953 Services Competitor men’s watch, with reversible case and box and papers
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied original guarantee we can accurately date this watch to Christmas Eve 1953.
CONDITION
What a find! This watch has the original paperwork from over 60 years ago, as well as a service receipt and guarantee from when someone had it serviced in 1965. The downside are the spots on the dial. The upsides are everything else! The watch is running strongly – these Services have the loudest tick of anything we have experienced! The bracelet looks to be correct to the period, and has an unusual but clever and comfortable fastening method. The video explains better than words will. The chrome is all in good order, and thanks to the design of the case, you can use this watch with either the crown on the left or right hand side.
SIZE
34.5mm wide including the crown, 12.3mm thick. Takes a 17mm strap. The bracelet will fit a maximum wrist size of approximately 210mm, and does not need any tools to adjust it for smaller wrists.
