Built to celebrate 100 years in watchmaking, this Centenaire models from Revue used their best technology.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Revue Thommen were founded in 1853, and these Centenaire models were to celebrate the 100th anniversary, so were produced for 1953.
CONDITION
The stainless steel case is marked waterproof, non magnetic and shockproof, but the good specification does not end there. This watch features the Revue calibre 81 hand wound 15 jewel movement, which has an unusual snail cam adjustment for fine regulation. So technically it is advanced for the time, but the styling is on point too. The black dial is original, with patina evenly across it, but also just a splash of red for the Centenaire cursive script. The gold faceted applied hour markers and hands also stand out against the black dial. As well as a screw on case back, the case also has very nice bombe lugs – rarely seen then, as this was made a year before the Polerouter and four years before the Speedmaster that both famously use bombe lugs. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
