With a good stainless steel case and the 12.68Z movement, this Longines Calatrava is going to tick many people’s boxes.  Model reference 6666-6

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1953.

The word Calatrava is normally only used by Patek Philippe, but it is also the best way to describe this sporty dress watch.  Calatrava style is probably more accurate.  Longines were possibly at their very best in the period this watch was made, and the 12.68Z is one of the nicest hand wound movements you will ever interact with.  The dial has a great balance to the design, despite the obvious marks shown in the photographs and the video.  The open nine is a nice touch and we have also checked the dial and hands for radium and this watch has none.  The hour hand having the round, almost Breguet style hand is an added attraction too.  The three part case being in steel makes the watch feel more sporty than gold, which suits the dial better.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
