The Tissot Antimagnetic was a once overlooked Swiss watch, but those days have long since gone now. Model reference 6373-4.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1951.
CONDITION
Tissot watches like this Antimagnetic used to be around in quite big numbers, but the rise with the numbers of collectors worldwide has dried up the availability of this model now. So why are they so popular? Well they are a Swiss made, stainless steel watch which not only has an in house movement but is also a very well balanced design. On this example the dial has been restored in the past, which isn’t ideal, but many of these watches have very heavy patina, so it is understandable. The movement is Tissot’s hand wound calibre 17.5-23, which not only has centre seconds but also has shock protection on the balance where many Antimagnetic Tissot’s do not have any shock protection. The green leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.
