This ladies Omega Seamaster has a gold capped case and is one of the earliest. Model reference CK2572
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1951. The Seamaster range was only introduced in 1948, and the CK2572 was one (if not the) first Seamaster ladies watches first introduced in 1949 according to Omega’s own website.
CONDITION
This Seamaster doesn’t have the name on the dial, but that may be as it was still a new thing to the market and with Ladies watches smaller dials often look better without extra words, as it makes it clearer to read the time. Often ladies watches are quite basic, but this watch has a screw on case back, centre seconds and shock protection. The case is stainless steel, then with what looks to be rose gold capping – you can see how thick the capping is from the back of the case, and it has not worn through like thinner gold plating might have done. The movement is Omega’s Calibre 252, a hand winding 17 jewel affair which is running well. The two tone dial does have patina evenly across it, but it is the original and over 70 years old. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
