This 1950 J W Benson tank watch has a Dennison case and Cyma manual wind movement.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the Birmingham hallmark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1950.

CONDITION

J W Benson were founded in London in 1847.  They quickly became a premium retailer and watchmaker, gaining Royal warrants from Queen Victoria, the Prince of Wales and Tsar of Russia among others.  This post war gold watch would have been designed as a men’s watch, but is quite small by today’s standards so can be considered unisex now.  The Cyma 335 movement is all running well, and would have been a high quality movement in the day – J W Benson didn’t put their name on anything that wasn’t quality.  The case is very straight and stamped ALD for Dennison, again a quality company to work with.  It is the not skimping on quality back in 1950 that has allowed this watch to survive in such nice condition now.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
