Remarkable to find any 1949 ladies watch with the original box and papers.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied and matching paperwork we can accurately date this watch to 1949.
CONDITION
This Swiss made Rotary features a bright and quite clean dial, with applied gold coloured hour indices and hands. The case is a Stainex stainless steel backed one, with chromed top. Some of the chrome has chipped off, as is shown in the photos. The 15 jewel hand wind movement is working well, and the crystal is clear and only has the lightest of scratches. The box and receipt are very nice, both branded by H. Samuel (The Empire’s largest Jeweller!). The box has a hand written serial number that matches the case number of the watch. We have fitted a new strap, but if the oxblood red isn’t for you we can change that for a brown or black leather strap for no extra charge. Given that modern straps are longer, and this one is thicker, that the original would have been, it does mean that the watch no longer fits in the box as was originally intended!
SIZE
