This 1927 cushion cased gold Omega has a unique patina that can not be replicated.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the hall mark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1927, which also fits the movement production dates.
CONDITION
Let’s get straight to the dial. Some people will look at this dial as damaged, and want a pure white one. This watch is not for those people. Others, ourselves included, see the dirt (possibly smoke damage?) and the unique patterning and patina left by it and love the watch more for that reason. The fact that you can only just make out the Omega name and logo, so only you will know it is from that prestigious brand, adds to that appeal. The cushion shaped case was made by Dennison, and utilises a patent by Waltham Watch Co. regarding a method of attaching the watch strap. The 18mm wide lugs look like they are regular drill lugs, but we think there is a pressed in pin instead – we didn’t remove this and fitted a new open ended leather strap instead. The case is in good shape, with one dent on the non crown side. The case back has never been engraved. The movement is the Omega hand winding calibre 23.7S, which is running well.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
