This hallmarked sterling silver cased Waltham pocket watch is proud to be from the USA.

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1917. However on the inside of the case back is hallmarked for Birmingham 1919, and it also has a personal inscription for 1922 – this is the likely date that the watch case and movement were together and sold to the owner on the inscription.

The outside of the Dennison case is tarnished, which is quite normal for silver cases. This can be polished up to look like new, but the patina of the tarnishing elevates the watch in our humble opinion, so we will be leaving it unless the new owner says otherwise. There are a few cosmetic marks to the glass, and a dent in the case back, but given the age the rest of the watch is in good condition. The dial has no cracks, and the hands are straight and true. The beautifully decorated movement, Waltham pocket watch calibre 620, is running well and has signs of real high end horology – you will not see screwed in jewel chantons in modern watches until you get to very expensive timepieces.

This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
