I’ve been watching you site for at least a year waiting for the right ’74 to show up. I’d been looking mainly for an Omega/Longines dress watch but I’m a big fan of vintage Seiko as well. When I saw this watch pop up on your site–with its unusual movement and in absolutely mint condition–I knew this was the one. Sure, EL-370s can be had on eBay for less, but you found a gem that was worth every penny! And after 43-years of being who knows where, barely being worn, and therefore probably never being serviced, I’m happy to see that it’s running strongly and fairly accurate.

This watch has an inscription on the case back for 1980, so maybe the date added to the #MappinAndWebb receipt for this automatic men's watch. But we are very surprised the high end jeweller hadn't spotted the spelling mistake!![]()

Bravo to #Zenith. Not only do they have something to celebrate with this 50th Anniversary El Primero, but they were very faithful to the original. The modern watch has sapphire crystal, exhibition caseback and superluminova upgrades but visually it is very close to the 1969 watch. Too many reissues are in stupid 43mm cases, or have a date when the original didn't, or some detail ruins them. Not this one.![]()
