c1972 Favre Leuba ellipse automatic with blue dial

This stainless steel Favre Leuba automatic watch has a very clear dial and a quality ETA automatic movement inside the ellipsoid case.

From the production dates of the ETA 2671 automatic movement, combined with the case style, we can date this watch to being made circa 1972.

The watch has quality ingredients that combine to make a tasty treat!  The stainless steel case has a clamshell construction, with four screws holding front and rear together.  The screw heads are hidden behind the strap (a new leather strap in complimentary blue.  Despite the hands losing sections of the lume the watch still has clarity and is easy to read.  The crown may have lost an insert (we can not be certain), and the lume plots have eaten into the blue dial slightly, but it doesn’t detract from the overall impression of the watch.  Favre-Leuba are one of the oldest watch manufacturers, and we are thinking of this as a far cheaper but similar style to a Patek Patek Ellipse (yes we know it is a bold statement, but I you are thinking of spending £30,000 on a Patek but are unsure if the hidden lugs are for you then buy this and try it out!)

This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
