The Lord Matic (LM) range were a step up from the standard (still good) Seiko lines, and this example has an unusual green fade dial.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1974.

CONDITION

The LM range is a favourite of ours.  It adds a solid link bracelet, hacking seconds and hand winding over the more basic 5 model.  There is one weakness in the 5606 23 jewel movement though, and that is that if you use the date quickset anywhere near midnight it breaks the mechanism.  That has happened on this watch, but the date can be set via the crown still.  The green dial has a green faded pattern, and a few small dirt marks, but all the lume plots are present.  The design screams 1970’s funky – from the ovoid stainless steel case to the dial, to the oversized hour markers.  It is unlikely that you find someone else wearing the same watch.  The bracelet may be a later replacement, fitted to a Seiko clasp.

The watch is priced to account for the date quick set change mechanism not working.  We can not find the parts to repair this.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
