1973 Baylor men’s watch with box and papers

A Swiss made Baylor men’s watch on a bracelet, complete with box and original paperwork, with manual wind movement.

From the supplied stamped guarantee in the original box we can accurately date this watch to being sold on Christmas day, 1973.  (more than likely the date was post dated for a gift for someone by someone working at the Oxford Street branch of Leslie Davis jewellers.

This watch has a 17 jewel AS1950/1951 movement in, so unlike the earlier Baylor watches this one is unlikely to have been made by Heuer.  That said it has a very pleasing design, with a clean looking off white dial and no date window to throw the balance of the design.  From some angles you can see some slight discolorisation of the centre of the dial.  The folded link bracelet is a good length and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
