A petite ladies Seiko, model number 17-0240, featuring a manual wind Seiko movement combined with a gold plated bracelet.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1970.
The watch is in all round good shape. The case has had a small knock at 5 but the integrated bracelet is a decent length and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The bracelet is also 18k gold filled – this is far thicker than gold plate, and should not wear through. The matt brown dial features gold plated hour markers that are also faceted to add shine. There is a tiny mark on the dial between 4 and 5, but that is difficult to see with the naked eye. The manual winding movement is keeping good time, as you always expect from a Seiko.
An elegant watch, in perfect 1970’s colours.
