HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We can date this to being produced in the 1st quarter of 1957 from the serial number on the watch movement.
The dial is in great condition and features the Cyrillic inscription “Pobeda” in gilt to match the Arabic numerals. Pobeda does translate as Victory according to most scholars. The movement is strong, as it seems are all these Russian watches from this period. The case has a few marks as shown in the photographs but nothing too serious. The bund style leather strap is new.
