This 1956 Tissot, in a chromed case and with textured dial, has a manual winding movement with sub seconds dial.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1956.
The textured dial is a nice survivor, as most of these are terminally damaged by cigarette smoke over the years. The movement winds via the crown – the crown is bent but solid and functional, and is housed in a chromed case that has lost some of the chrome plating, as shown in the photos. These photos are enlarged, so the video is probably a more realistic view of the pitting. We have fitted a new acrylic crystal and leather strap to make this ready to wear. The size was typical for a man, but now would suit either sex.
