This ladies Tudor Royal, cased by by Rolex themselves in solid 9k gold. Manual wind 17 jewel movement and clean dial.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the Chester hallmark on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1956.
CONDITION
Tudor are a sub brand of Rolex, using Rolex cases and selected movements. Some gold watches did not have the R W Co Ltd stamp in the cases, as they were made elsewhere to avoid import duty on gold watches. This example was assembled in full in Switzerland by Rolex.
The Tudor manual wind movement is keeping excellent time, and the off white dial is clean with just minor marks. The applied hour markers and hands show no tarnishing, so are probably gold too. The case has just small tool marks but no knocks or dents. The stretchy strap is new. We have priced this watch at less than the last two ladies gold Tudor watches sold on eBay, and they had no guarantee.
