1944 Ladies Lord Elgin with rose gold filled case

A 10k rolled rose gold cased ladies Lord Elgin watch, produced during WW2, in great condition.

From the serial number on the 17 jewel Elgin 558 manual wind movement we can accurately date this watch to being produced in 1944.

Starting in the mid to late 1930s, Elgin introduced a new line of wrist watches called Lord Elgin. They were designed to compete with other manufacturers whose watches were perceived as “premium”.

The case on this watch is practically perfect – absolutely remarkable for the year.  The dial on this example appears to have some older restoration, and is showing crazing if you look very closely.  Like all Lord Elgin watches the back is also in rolled rose gold, whereas their standard range would have just been steel.

This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and Certificate of Authenticity.
